SEN | HEAR IT FIRST: Collingwood forward Paul Medhurst says he hopes he did enough in his return match last week to secure his spot in the seniors.

The Magpie favourite had not played a game since Round Six, and was a late replacement for Leon Davis, who pulled out with a virus.

Medhurst said he struggled with the pace of the game early, but soon found his feet.

"It's been a while, and it wasn't the conventional way to get a game," Medhurst said.

"I was pretty scratchy there for the first half, but as the game opened up, and there was plenty of supply there in the last quarter, I ran myself into form."

Leon Davis is set to return this week, which puts pressure on Medhurst's position.

Also adding to the strain, Scott Pendlebury trained well today, and should take his place against the Bombers on Friday night.
