Victorian Radio Network Pty Ltd (trading as SEN1116) is bound by the National Privacy Principles outlined in Schedule 3 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and is therefore subject to obligations relating to the collection, use, disclosure, accuracy, security, accessibility and export of personal information.

The Privacy Act exempts acts and practices engaged in by media organisations in the course of journalism. Victorian Radio Network is committed to the Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance Code of Ethics.

Victorian Radio Network is committed to educating its employees on information privacy obligations and compliance. This Privacy Policy Statement sets the policies with respect to the personal information it collects, utilises, and discloses.

a)     Collection of Information

Victorian Radio Network may collect personal information in numerous circumstances, including:

  • receiving competition entry forms and telephone entries;

·         fielding talk-back radio calls and other reports of public concern;

·         receiving applications for advertising; and

  • conducting fundraising events 

The personal information collected and stored usually depends upon the circumstances but will often include an individual's name, contacts details, and details of the purpose for the individual contacting the Company.

In most cases, information will be collected directly from the individual concerned. Where it is collected through a third party, we shall endeavour to ensure you are made aware of this.

b)     Disclosure of Information by Victorian Radio Network Pty Ltd

Victorian Radio Network will treat personal information they collect with the strictest confidence and will only disclose that information in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988. They may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

·         to a contractor under an outsourcing arrangement but only where the contractor is committed to meeting the same privacy obligations as those binding on Victorian Radio Network;

·         to other companies in the Group;

·         to operators of competitions for processing applications and delivering prizes; and 

·         in accordance with any consent given to Victorian Radio Network or where it is compelled or authorised by law.

Victorian Radio Network may use personal information for a wide range of purposes depending upon the circumstances in which it receives or collects the information. Victorian Radio Network does not or will not sell personal information to third parties.
